Irondale High School Forum
I'm being asked about Irondale High School. A forum took place between Satveer Chaudhary and myself, and the candidates for 50B, as well. However, when Mr. Chaudhary stated that our governor had never mentioned the words 'free tuition' until two weeks before the election, I asked a simple question. Have you been with the governor all the time for the last ten years? Our current senator tossed the debate into mayhem with his next remark...catcalls and screams resulted along with the end of the debate in chaos--with the student moderator trying to get control. The self-proclaimed 'level-headed' senator stated, "Yes". He had been with the governor all the time for the past ten years. "He and I are gay lovers." Well, that may be too much information for a high school audience. Dishonoring the educational process also occurred. What will the students remember from that forum?
As a parent I would want to know what a self-described as 'level-headed' senator added to the election and the education process. It's a fact that the kids will remember something other than how to vote. Stick to the facts Mr. Chaudhary, and leave the governor out of your affections toward trivializing marriage. Respect most of us who see marriage as between a man and a woman, and a stabilizing societal norm around the globe. Also 'free tuition' was the question you disregarded. You messed around with the governor's offer in June of 2006 to graduating Minnesota seniors, saying he hadn't made any such statement. You were wrong again! Facts are stubborn things....
